UNC Asheville Students, Faculty, Staff, and University Retirees receive membership to all Campus Recreation facilities and services free of charge.

Eligible community members may purchase a membership (and Rocky Card University ID for entry) at the Student Recreation Center Front Desk, located at 400 Wellness Way, Asheville NC.

Operational Hours Notice

Please note, we operate collegiate recreational facilities, and therefore our hours of operation and services are limited to what we can provide with student employment availability and the academic calendar. Thank you for your understanding as we will experience reduced hours during academic breaks. See current and upcoming hours of operation.

Affiliate Membership Eligibility

  • UNC Asheville Alumni
  • Household relations of enrolled students
  • Household relations of faculty and staff
  • Household relations of alumni
  • Campus Partners (Individuals employed on-site at UNC Asheville, although not directly employed by UNC Asheville)
  • Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Members (OLLI)
  • AB Tech Faculty, Staff, and Students (Pool Membership only)

Please bring documentation to verify your affiliation, including but not limited to a UNC Asheville alumni email, documentation of a shared address with a household relation, a verification of OLLI membership, an AB Tech identification card, a letter of employment, etc. In addition to any specific documents to verify your status, please bring a government-issued ID and your RockyCard, if you possess one. If you do not possess a UNC Asheville-issued form of identification, you will purchase one for $25 at the time of membership purchase.

Eligibility of Minors

  • Dependent minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times
  • No entry permitted to the Sherrill Fitness Center for anyone under 16 years of age
  • No entry permitted to the pool for children in diapers or 4 years old and younger

Parking

Members should purchase a Visitor Parking Pass or obtain a day pass through Parking and Transportation Services.

Guest Passes

Campus Recreation encourages you to bring guests to help you reach your fitness goals and offers members the opportunity to purchase guest passes throughout the semester. 

Guest passes can be purchased by RockyCard holders at the service desk in the Student Recreation Center. The guest and RockyCard holder must both be present to purchase a guest pass. All guests should review facility policies and adhere to all UNC Asheville expectations.

  • Guest of a Current UNC Asheville Student: $5 a day
  • Guest of a Faculty, Staff, Retirees, or any Affiliate Membership Holder: $10 a day
